Woosong University, founded in 1954, is a private university based in Daejeon, South Korea with around 13,000 students including approximately 2,500 international students. The University has built a strong international focus with English-medium programmes across business, engineering, design, hospitality management and culinary arts. Woosong is ranked in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025 (1201-1500 globally) and is ranked 1st among private universities in the Chungcheong region. The University emphasises practical, industry-led training, English-language instruction, and strong partnerships with Korean and international companies. The Woosong Educational Foundation, founded in 1954, celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2024 with the opening of Woosong Global Garden and a broadened international footprint.

Woosong University Kazakhstan (WSUK) launched on 25 September 2025 in Turkestan, Kazakhstan - the country's spiritually rich and ancient southern city, in the Turkestan Region. The campus is Woosong's first international branch and was opened with direct support from the Kazakh Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Akimat of Turkestan Region. Woosong has been allocated 'the biggest spot in the downtown area' of Turkestan for the campus. WSUK focuses on technology-oriented disciplines, beginning with Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, with planned expansion to Software, the Fourth World IT Industrial Revolution, and Multimedia and Web Design. The campus has capacity for 2,340 students across four faculties. All instruction is in English, and a dual-diploma programme provides students the option to continue studies in Korea and find employment with Korean companies.

Turkestan is one of Kazakhstan's most historically and spiritually significant cities, dating back over a thousand years and home to the UNESCO World Heritage Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi - one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the Turkic world. Modern Turkestan has been positioned by the Kazakh government as a regional cultural and educational hub, with major recent investment in city infrastructure, hotels, museums and entertainment districts. WSUK occupies a prominent downtown location in Turkestan, giving students access to the city's cultural heritage and growing student-friendly amenities. The region also offers easy access to the Aral Sea region and the cities of Shymkent and Tashkent. Cost of living is significantly lower than Almaty or Astana.
