š About this Campus
Swansea University launched its Mauritius operation in September 2024 through a strategic partnership with Uniciti International Education Hub (UIEH), part of the Medine Group. Located at the Uniciti Education Hub in Pierrefonds on the west coast of Mauritius, the partnership establishes a Regional Centre of Excellence in Healthcare and Medical Training, addressing both Mauritian and wider African continental healthcare workforce needs. The first BSc (Hons) Nursing Top-Up cohort began in September 2024, with the next intake scheduled for February 2026. The programme is accredited by the Mauritius Nursing Council (MNC) and graduates receive a degree directly awarded by Swansea University in the UK. The launch was officially marked by Swansea's Vice Chancellor, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for International Engagement, and the British High Commissioner to Mauritius.

The Uniciti International Education Hub at Pierrefonds is a purpose-built academic campus on Mauritius's west coast, part of the Medine Group's wider development that includes student residences, sports facilities, and the SPARC multi-sport centre. The hub also hosts Middlesex University Mauritius, Curtin Mauritius, Vatel Mauritius, Amity Mauritius, and UniversitƩ Paris-PanthƩon-Assas, making it a multi-national academic community. Pierrefonds is close to Flic-en-Flac beach and provides easy access to the island's west-coast amenities. The Nursing Top-Up cohort is small and tightly cohort-based, with intensive two-week teaching blocks per module followed by supported online learning, designed so working nurses can continue in their roles while studying.
