RMIT Vietnam was established in 2000 as the first foreign-owned university in Vietnam. The Saigon South campus in Ho Chi Minh City is RMIT Vietnam's flagship, a purpose-built, contemporary educational facility of international standard. Saigon South sits in District 7 of Ho Chi Minh City, a modern, internationally-oriented part of Vietnam's largest city.
