NYU Shanghai opened in 2012 as the first Sino-US joint research university approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education. The undergraduate cohort is roughly 50% Chinese / 50% international, all taught entirely in English. Graduates receive a New York University degree (same as NYU New York) and are full members of NYU's Global Network with mobility to NYU New York, NYU Abu Dhabi and 12 study-away sites. NYU Shanghai delivers a US-style liberal arts education in the heart of China's financial capital. The student body is roughly 50% Chinese and 50% international from 75+ countries. Cohorts are small (~500/year) which fosters close peer and faculty relationships. Students live in the Jinqiao residential complex and spend at least one semester abroad at NYU New York, NYU Abu Dhabi, or another study-away site.
